HFM publishes 198 magazines in 40 countries outside France. A third of these titles are based on its main brands and HFM controls its business activities in 9 of its 10 main markets. Hachette Filipacchi Medias US is the 4th-largest consumer magazine publisher in the United States and Hachette Filipacchi SA is the leader in Spain. In Italy, Hachette Rusconi ranks 3rd in magazine publishing, while, in Japan, Hachette Fujingaho is the country's leading publisher of high-end women's magazines. In the United Kingdom, Hachette Filipacchi UK, founded in 2002, is the 6th-largest magazine publisher. Each of these subsidiaries is wholly owned and ranks as first foreign publisher in its respective country. The subsidiary in Mainland China is the 1st foreign publisher. The Group further developed its links with Marie Claire, with editions in Russia, Poland, Italy, China, Japan and Thailand. The year 2004 also marked the launch of Marie Claire Maison and Marie Claire 2 in Italy. Under the license of Finev, publisher of Psychologies Magazine in France, he Group launched Psychologies Magazine in Italy, followed by Psychologies Magazine in Spain in January 2005.
